Hello! 👋🏻

I thought I’d write something to tell you a little bit about me and why I share my life with you through a blog. I’ve noticed some new followers and want to help them, along with all my other loyal peeps, get to know a little more about what’s behind each of my posts.

If I had to tell you about myself in one sentence it would come out like this; I’m a thirty-two year old, married to my high school sweetheart, elementary school teacher, and mom to two beautiful girls. But that’s not all! Even though I’ve found being a mom defines me most days, because Sometimes it’s all I can relate to, I still feel like I am learning who I am with each passing day. As you see from the majority of my posts, my girls (and husband ☺️) are what make my world complete. They make the bad days good and the good days better. Even when a few eye rolls and some mommy juice are necessary, of course.

I work very hard to be healthy, stay active, and lose these last few pounds of baby weight. (If I can even call it that now that my youngest is three 😳). I HAVE to keep a clean house and have created many solid routines that my family follows. I make sure dinner is on the table every night when my husband gets home and I always make sure to do other things like the weekly grocery shopping and laundry for my family. My weekend is not complete until those things are done. It’s also important that I share my love of Jesus and the good he has done in my life.

Why call it, “The Love We Give?” I’ll tell you it’s for absolutely one reason. When we become a parent our world and the way we look at it completely changes. We no longer put ourselves first. We learn to give every ounce of the love we have to our children. Or at least I know that’s what I do! Most of what I share is about the love that is given and received in my life.

Most of my posts are written in twenty minutes. Yeah, you read that right. Honestly, there are days I can’t imagine sitting down to write something, but then there are days I feel so inspired by something that I have to stop what I’m doing and write to my heart's desire. I don’t set a date or time, I just write when I feel like it. For me, this blog is for fun and not made to stress me out. Also, it’s so crazy, but my BEST ideas for writing come to me when I’m in the shower or trying to fall asleep late at night. I often jump out of the shower and jot stuff down in the notepad on my phone. And sometimes there are some really great ideas that get lost between rinsing my hair and shaving my legs. Sigh!

Besides being passionate for my family and my career, I have a huge passion for writing. It happened a little over 8 years ago when I started teaching writing to about 90 fifth graders. It was an amazing year of making a difference and finding myself in the process. I learned so much back then that has led me to continue my writing journey. I have some huge goals for the future!

With everything I write I am hoping someone can relate, my positivity touches you, and maybe even some think I’m a little funny. I am being completely vulnerable in everything I write. For those of you who continuously like, share and comment on my posts, I truly appreciate it! Your words and support mean the most. There have been moments, days even, when I have said “I’m going to delete the blog.” Is it what I really want? No, not really. But there’s a huge part of me that can be insecure and a little voice in my head saying, “no one cares what you have to say.” Then, I swear to you, within days of me having those thoughts someone ends up making a comment about how much they love my posts or I’ll see someone in person who says they look forward to reading what I write. So long story short, I’m keeping it up!

I promise to be real, to stay positive, and to always be honest.
Thanks for your support! Love you all!

Sarah
